Virtual Chip Exchange is an OEM / EMS member-based trading platform for electronic components, and is headquartered in Canada. Virtual Chip was a pioneer in the internet space for semiconductor trading and has been featured in TIME Magazine, Business Week and Forbes. From its operational offices in Munich, Germany the company manages its 35,000 strong membership base covering 62 countries. With more than a Billion USD of available inventory under management, VCE is the market leader.
VCE was established in 1997 as a joint venture between Mediagrif Interactive Technologies (TSE: MDF) and HPI AG (FRA: CEW3). In 1999, Arrow Electronics (NYSE: ARW) took a 49% ownership in the company and helped the firm to establish its worldwide presence as the leader in OEM / EMS excess inventory management. Today VCE is a privately-held Canadian corporation no longer affiliated with the above. |
